With proper installation and maintenance, a well-constructed cement driveway can last 25 to 40 years. Longevity depends heavily on climate conditions, soil stability, and whether preventive measures like sealing and drainage control are implemented. In regions with freeze-thaw cycles, air-entrained concrete and correct curing practices significantly improve lifespan.
Watch for hairline cracks widening over time, spalling (surface flaking), uneven settling, or crumbling edges. These often indicate moisture penetration, poor sub-base compaction, or freeze damage. Addressing small cracks early with appropriate fillers prevents water intrusion and further deterioration.
